The Brief
You have been recruited to jDesign; a prestigious web design company based in the southwest of England.
Your managing director has asked you to design a website for Beelievers, a non-profit bee-keeping charity, focused on the support of bees in the UK. Since web design is not an area of the charity’s expertise, they require an original web design based on the branding and images supplied.
After researching ideas, they like one current design trend in particular – single-page layouts. They would like you to incorporate this into your design to create a landing page for their services.
Beelievers wish for the design to be creative, fun, family-friendly and suitable for their target audience: beekeepers, eco-friendly activists, schools, and education providers.
You have been tasked with designing their new site. The main purpose of the site is to inform visitors of the importance of bees and provide key details on the problems that bees face, and what support they offer. Key to this is a donate link, which should be easily accessible and a key focus throughout the website.
Tasks
Three variants of the Beelievers logo have been provided (please select ONE to use!). These cannot be altered in any way, and any must have a minimum of a 25px respected distance from any object when used. Ensure that no more than four colours are employed, except for monochromatic colours/shades/gradients.
A selection of images has been provided - feel free to use these as much (or little) as you like without limitation. However, ensure that you have used all of the text and headings provided in the attached file. You must use at least 5 images within the design: the images should be edited or adjusted in order to make them fit with the style of the website. Only the logo, images and assets supplied with this brief may be used in your design - no additional media assets may be used.
You may use any fonts as required, however, no more than three fonts may be used across your design.
You can create the design using any suitable graphics design application; however, the final product must be a PNG file in an appropriate HD desktop resolution.
The design must include the following sections, not necessarily in this order:
- ‘Save the Bees’ - including provided text
- ‘Beekeepers we Love’ section
- The ‘Beekeepers we Love’ section must feature a photo gallery with a minimum of 3 images with appropriate titles.
- ‘About Bees’ - including provided text
- ‘Work we’ve Done’ – including three testimonials provided
- ‘Contact Us’ should include the address and contact information supplied with a contact form including the following fields:
- ‘Donate to the Bees’ – linking directly to the donate link provided
All sections must be clearly titled, using the colours and typography you have chosen.
